The plate is circular with eight shallow scallops round the edge, a narrow rim, curved sides and almost flat centre. The well is occupied by a version of the Chinese-style 'Willow Pattern', known as 'Long Bridge' pattern, which features two figures crossing a bridge between two buildings, a boat in the forground, two very small boats on the water between the bridge and a distant island at the top of the scene.
