An image of Illuminated manuscript. Cutting from an Antiphoner for the Sanctoral. Parchment, gold, 317 x 206 mm, five musical staves ruled in red ink, four fragmentary lines of text, ruled in brown ink, circa 1325 to circa 1350. Production Place: Italy, Perugia. 
CONTENTS: Parts of the first nocturn at Matins for the Feast of St Anthony of Padua, […]rictibus mondentes. P.[…] R. i. Fundi[itur insoncium] sanguis […] qui morientium n (continuing on reverse) […]lat … nis. V. In minores [….] Dat in odium Christi rex in … R. ii. Optans fore so[cius]; the initial F introduced the responsory to the first lesson of Matins for the Feast of St Anthony of Padua, Funditur insoncium sanguis, and is followed by the versicle to the first lesson, In minores, and the responsory to the second lesson, Optans fore. ORNAMENTATION: Ornamental initial in liquid gold and pink on blue and dark pink grounds with coloured vine-scroll infill and acanthus extensions forming partial borders: [F, 4 staves high]. Alternate red or blue initials [height of the gap between staves] with purple or red pen flourishing, using small scallop and trefoil motifs: two initials on reverse.
