Askos-shaped jug. Storr, Paul (British, 1771-1844). Storr & Mortimer, London. Silver, with matted body, plain cover flanked by cast recumbent goats, and cast handle ornamented with acanthus foliage, and terminating in acanthus foliage and flat scrolls on either side of a cast, applied cherub in relief. Two plain silver tendrils run down the body from the junction of the handle, and the body rests on a plain silver footring stamped STORR & MORTIMER 200. The interior is lightly gilt. Height (top of handle) 21.8 cm, 1836 to 1837. Neoclassical.
