Miniature vase. Cizhou ware. Piriform with a long slender neck and wide flat rim, standing on a footring. The sides are decorated with three groups of three curved brown strokes. The lower part of the vase and base are undecorated. White stoneware, decorated in dark brown on a white slip ground, under a transparent colourless glaze, height 7.2 cm, 1000-1127. Northern Song (960-1127). Chinese. Acquisition Credit: Lent to the museum by Helen H. L. Whittow (nee Malcolm).
