Jewellery. Gull Brooch. Maison Mellerio, Paris, Colmar. Remnants of black enamel on the head and wings, and red enamel on the legs and feet, and inside the beak. Detachable gold pin fastening, inscribed 'MELLERIO.R.PAIX.9.'. Silver, cast and chased, the eye set with a diamond chip, and originally enamelled in black on the head, and red on the legs, feet, and inside of beak. Width, whole, 7.6 cm, circa 1880-1900.
