English Delftware wine bottle inscribed 'CLARIT 1647'

An image of English Delftware. Wine bottle/wine jug. Probably made in Southwark, or possibly in Brislington. The jug has a low foot, a bulbous body, short slender neck with a projecting band round the top, and loop handle which is rounded on the exterior. On the front is the inscription CLARIT/ 1647 with a star on each side. Buff earthenware, thrown, with slightly concave underside to the foot, and a groove round its edge, and an applied handle, tin-glazed, and painted in blue; the glaze has been wiped off most of the base, height, whole, 11.6 cm, dated 1647. English.
