An elegant couple in a garden with a pineapple plant; '88' border. Buff earthenware, tin-glazed white on the upper surface and transfer-printed in grey-black, height, whole, 12.6 cm, width, whole, 12.6 cm, depth, whole, 0.6 cm, circa 1765-1775. Rococo. Notes: Made in Liverpool and printed by J. Sadler and G. Green. The design was derived from pl. 32 of The Ladies Amusement, 2nd edition, 1762 or 3rd edition, 1771, but is reversed.
