An image of Girl selling carp. Meissen Porcelain Manufactory, Saxony. Hard-paste porcelain, press-moulded, and painted in enamels. The flat underside is unglazed and has a circular ventilation hole near the back. Height, whole, 18.6 cm, width, whole, 11.2 cm, circa 1740-1745. Production Note: The figure was modelled by J.J. Kaendler after 'Carpe Vive' the 6th print in the second series of engravings entitled 'Études prises dans le bas Peuple ou les Cris de Paris' engraved by the comte de Caylus (1692-1765) after drawings by Edmé Bouchardon (1689-1762), which were published in 1737.
