An image of Medal. Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta (1417-1468), Lord of Rimini and Fano. Antonio di Puccio ('Pisanello') (1395-1455). Obverse; Bust right, wearing over shirt of mail a surcoat embroidered with heraldic four-petalled Malatesta roses. Inscription; SIGISMVNDVS PANDVLFVS DE MALATESTIS ARIMINI FANI D. Reverse; Sigismondo standing to front, head right, in full armour of plate over shirt of mail, with visor closed; holds sheathed sword in both hands; on left, on heraldic rose tree, his casque, crowned, and elephant's head crest; on right, on similar tree, heater-shaped shield of his arms. Inscription; OPVS . PISANI . PICTORIS. Bronze, cast, weight, 255 g, diameter, 87.8 mm, circa 1445. Renaissance.
