Pomander. Dark spinach green jade, carved and pierced with full-blown peony flowers and foliage. The base flanked by two peony head handles and the domed cover surmounted by three openwork peonies. The openwork design suggests that it was used for non-burning incense or aromatic substances, such as dried flowers. Nephrite, height 9.8 cm, length, including handles, 15 cm, diameter 10.2 cm, 1736-1795 AD. Chinese.
