English buttonhole stitch purse half made on a mould

An image of Textiles. Purse. Colours blue, green and pink. At the top a band of lozenges in silver thread and pink silk upon a dark blue background. The body of the bag decorated with five pink geometrical flowers and leaves alternating with lozenges. The cylindrical mould is made of ebony, the top hollowed out to a depth just over 1", a row of eleven holes which enable a foundation thread for the first row to be attached to the mould. Silk, length, whole, 3.75 in, circa 1600-circa 1699. English. Notes: Similarly worked to T.191-1928 but with only 1 7/8 in. completed.
