Sculpture/Plaque. The Entombment. Riccio, Andrea (Andrea Briosco), (Italian, 1470-1532). The body of the dead Christ is lowered into the tomb by St John and two bearded men. To the right is the Virgin attended by three women; to the left is a seated mourner and an old woman holding an ewer. In the background are mourners who raise their arms in lamentation. Bronze, cast, with dark brown patina, height, whole, 11.8 cm, width, whole, 16.6 cm, circa 1520. Renaissance.
