Image attached to P.382-1996

An image of Shôki, the demon queller. Masanobu, Okumura (Japanese, c.1686-1764). Print from woodblock in black, with hand-colouring and 'lacquer' (urushi-e). Kakemono-e, Signed: Hôgetsudô Okumura Bunkaku Masanobu kin-zu. Artist's seal: Tanchôsai. c.1745. Nikawa, sumi, coloured ink, height 623 mm, width 255 mm, circa 1745. Ukiyo-e. Japanese. Notes: Shôki was the Japanese name for Zhong Kui, a figure from Chinese mythology.
