Frogs were associated with the inundation (annual flooding) of the Nile and so could be linked to fertility and also the celebration of the Egyptian New Year, which was in July. Faience is a crushed quartz that is glazed. Production Place: Egypt. Find Spot: Hierakonpolis, Egypt; Main Deposit. Mould-made, faïence, length 4.3 cm, about 3000-2500 B.C. Predynastic, Early Dynastic Period.
