Engraved hematite gem with a horseman and woman

An image of Engraved gems. Magical amulet. Obverse: a horseman, wearing a tunic and flying chlamys, reining back his horse to the right, about to trample upon a transfix with a lance a prostrate female figure. This victim is naked; her legs are separated and arms raised as if to ward off the blow; her hair is long and knotted. Directly in front of the horseman's face is a star, and in an arch over his head a series of dashes possibly meant as the usual inscription on such amulets. Reverse: inscription of three lines. Intaglio cutting, hematite, 30 mm x 19 mm, circa 300-circa 500 AD. Roman Imperial.
