Sculpture/Figure. Movement de Danse H. Rodin, Auguste (French, 1840-1917). Rudier, Georges, founder, Paris, Colmar. Bronze, cast, with rough surface, and very dark brown, shiny patination, attached by a rectangular tenon to a rectangular, straight-sided black marble base. The dancer is headless. She kneels on her right leg, leaning backwards, with her left leg stretched out upwards in front of her. Her arms are extended upwards, and in her right hand he holds an indeterminate object. Bronze, cast, with dark brown patina; on black marble base. Height, bronze, 26 cm, height, whole, 29.4 cm, height, base, 2.5 cm, length, base, 15 cm, width, base, 8 cm, circa 1950-1965. Conceived c. 1911, cast probably 1950s when Roland Browse & Delbanco included several of the dancers in their exhibitions, or between 1963-65.
