Circular red box and cover, black on the inside. Carved with 'moutan' (tree peony blossoms and foliage) and phoenix birds, in relief in a sage green ground. Carved in relief and lacquered, height 9.5 cm, diameter 18.7 cm, 1522-1566. Probably Chia Ching period. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Chinese.
