Jewellery. Winged brooch in Egyptian style. Watherston & Son, maker, England, London. Gold, cast, engraved and set with an oval banded agate and pearls. In the back, a glass topped compartment containing a piece of blue ribbon. Pin fastening. In original dark maroon leather case (A), the lid of which is lined with pale blue silk printed in gold 'Watherston & Son/12 Pall Mall East,/London'. Height, whole, 2.7 cm, width, whole, 5.2 cm, circa 1870. Archaeological Style. Victorian. Acquisition Credit: Given by Mrs J. Hull Grundy.
