Jewellery. Peacock brooch. Child & Child, London. In the shape of a peacock standing on three loops, from each of which is suspended a pearl drop. Pin-fastening across the back. In original dark turquoise leather case (A), lined with cream velvet and silk, the lid printed in gold 'CHILD & CHILD JEWELLERS/GOLD AND SILVERSMITHS/35 ALFRED PLACE WEST/QUEEN'S/GATE'. Gold, enamelled in blue, turquoise, yellow and green, with three pearl drops. Circa 1891-1899. Acquisition: given Mrs H. Hull Grundy.
