Sauce boat. HC, silversmith, Ireland, Dublin. Oval, with wavy edge rim; high at the back; the sides fluted; standing on three cast scroll legs with shell capitals and hoof feet; the double scroll handle with lion’s mask thumb-piece and paw capital; engraved with a crest to the left of the lip (later). Silver, height, to top of handle, 9.3 cm, width, from lip to handle, 13.7 cm, weight, overall, 250 g, circa 1750. Rococo.
