Studio Ceramics. Polychrome charger of smooth grey-white stoneware. Production Place: Vietnam. Underglaze cobalt blue, then overglaze green and red enamels. Although on this dish the red has completely gone, leaving faint images. Around the cavetto are cloud shaped ogival panels with 'ghosts' of red chrysanthemum flowers, and in the well is a bird in a pomegranate tree, with bamboo. 1428-1524. Later Le Dynasty. Acquisition: Dr John Shakeshaft Bequest.
