An image of Beardless man in a fur cloak and cap: Bust. Vliet, Jan van, attributed (Dutch, c.1610-c.1668). Reworked after Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669). Etching, engraving, black carbon ink on laid paper, height, plate, 75 mm, width, plate, 59 mm; height, sheet, 75 mm, width, sheet, 59 mm, 1631. Production Note:III/III. Plate reworked by a pupil, probably van Vliet. Notes: The first signature on the print is probably Rembrandt's, obscured by later shading work in the background. An impression of this print in Paris (Bibliothèque Nationale) was included in an album of Van Vliet's prints by Mariette, which reinforces the attribution. Alternative Number(s): Hollstein (Dutch/Flemish); B307 III/III; 1969. Biörklund/Barnard; BB Rej.55 III/III; 1955.
