An image of The artist's mother in widow's dress and black gloves. Unknown printmaker. After Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669). Etching, black carbon ink on laid paper, height, plate, 149 mm, width, plate, 116 mm; height, sheet, 152 mm, width, sheet, 120 mm, circa 1632. Production Note: Only state. Notes: Hollstein suggested that this print may have been executed by an early pupil, such as Karel van der Pluym. It is a modified reverse copy of 'The artist's mother seated at a at a table, looking right: Three quarter length' (approx. 1631), and if by an early pupil, can probably be dated to around 1632. Alternative Number(s): Hollstein (Dutch/Flemish); B344 Only state; 1969. Biörklund/Barnard; BB Rej.71 Only state; 1955.
