Bald old man in profile: Bust. Unknown printmaker. Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669). Etching, counterproof, black carbon ink on paper, height, plate, 79 mm, width, plate, 68 mm, after 1630. Production Note: III/III. Notes: Counterproof of a copy by a pupil of Rembrandt after 'Bald headed man in profile right' (B292 state III). The same artist also apparently executed 'Bust of an old man' (B El 35). Alternative Number(s): Hollstein (Dutch/Flemish); B293 III/III (Counterproof); 1969. Biörklund/Barnard; BB Rej.47; 1955.
