Coffee cup and saucer. New Hall Porcelain Factory, Staffordshire. Cylindrical coffee can with loop handle. Circular saucer with curved sides, standing on a footring. The cup is decorated on the exterior with a blue tree, with foliage dotted in blue and red, and with two bunches of red berries, and gold tendrils, repeated on the other side. Inside there are two gold branches, each with two dotted leaves, and two bunches of red berries. There are gold bands round the rim and base and the back of the handle is gilded. The saucer has a central gold-edged medallion containing a plant, surrounded by the pattern on the exterior of the cup. The edge is encircled by a gold band. Pattern no. 372. Hybrid hard-paste porcelain, painted underglaze in enamels, decoration in cobalt blue, and gilded, height, cup, 5.9 cm, width, cup, 8.8 cm, diameter, cup, 6.8 cm, height, saucer, 3.1 cm, diameter, saucer, 13.6 cm, circa 1795-1800.
