An image of Netsuke: kagamibuta: flowers. Unknown maker, Japan. Circular plain base with central himotoshi. Shibuichi disc cast in high relief and tooled in intricate detail with two blooming flowers set side by side; the whole disc is covered in leaves at different stages of relief. Holes punched through from the front are jagged on the underside. Ivory bowl with metal disc and eyelet held together by a brown shoelace; disc cast in high relief and tooled, height, whole, 1.9 cm, width, whole, 4.7 cm, circa 1800-1868. Edo Period (1615-1868).
