Armour. Burgonet, for parade use, with embossed, chased and counterfeit-damascend classical decoration. Negroli, Filippo, perhaps (Italian armourer, Milanese, c.1510, active 1532-1551). Formed of a one-piece skull with a pivoted 'visor', an incomplete pair of cheek-pieces, and a neck-defence of one lame; hammered, shaped, riveted, with embossed, chased and counterfeit-damascening decoration, pierced ventilation-holes, recessed borders and raised ribs. Low-carbon steel, height (whole) 31.4 cm x width (whole): 20.2 cm. depth (whole) 29.3 cm, c.1540-1545.
