Teapot, cover and stand. Worcester Porcelain Factory, probably, England. The globular teapot has a slightly curved, upward tilting spout, loop handle, short vertical neck, and a footring. The domed cover (A) has a knob in the shape of a flower on a stalk with two leaves. The stand (B)is hexagonal with sloping fluted sides and lightly scalloped edge. The pieces are decorate en suite with floral sprigs and swags of black husks with grey 'shadow', and with gilt band and formal scrolls and leaf motifs. The knob is picked out in gold. Soft-paste porcelain, moulded and decorated with floral sprigs and scrolls in polychrome enamels and gilt, height, teapot, 14.8 cm, length, teapot, 19.4 cm; height, stand, 1.9 cm, width, stand, 15 cm, circa 1770-1780. Neoclassical. Production Note: Attributed to Chelsea-Derby period on accession but the shape of the handle and knob indicate that it is Worcester.
