Studio Ceramics. Stoneware jar (tsubo). Oviform with a short neck and rounded rim. Characteristic dark red/brown body, with traces of fly ash glaze. With stone inclusions, one of which at the base forms a passage to the interior. No mark. 1500-1573. Japanese. Muromachi period (1336-1573). Acquisition: Dr John Shakeshaft Bequest.
