Recto; watercolour; I've pulled your head and mane beneath: / I've plucked your fluffy feathers; / I've put my hand between your teeth: / Your red legs held in tethers: / I've watched your tiny parachutes / Go sailing far away: / I've blown your hair out by the roots, / To tell the time of day. / And yet you've always been so good / And generous a giver: / You've granted salad for my food, / And med'cine for my liver: / And so, in every time and place, / I'll always keep my eye on / Your dandy dress and lion face: / You dear old Dandy-lion! C.B. Verso; watercolour; 6. Verso; watercolour; ....in that green bower / The periwinkle trailed its wreathes, / And 'tis my faith that every flower / Enjoys the air it breathes. / Wordsworth / ....................... / Dites-moi si vous connaissez / Dans les écrins de nos princesses, / Si vous le voulez, entassez / Perles, diemants et richesses.... / Un plus adorable joyau / Qu'au bord d'un limpide ruisseau / Sous l'azur que l'aube colore, / Après la fraîcheur de la nuit / S'éveillant parèe et sans bruit, / La perenche heureuse d'éclore? / A. de Goulaine.
