An image of Japanese pottery. Tea bowl. Ryonyu (Raku IX).  Production Place: Japan, Kyoto. Hand-built tea bowl of broad, low, form. Raku spiral in the foot ring. Faint wad marks, and two black scorch marks. The side of the bowl is sliced. Raku clay, brushed all over with an orange-red glaze, height, whole, 6.3 cm, diameter, rim, 13.4 cm, diameter, bowl, 13.3 cm, diameter, foot, 5.7 cm, largest, circa 1800-1834. Edo Period (1615-1868).
