Japanese pouring bowl with autumn flowers, by Kenzo

An image of Japanese pottery. Bowl with spout. Kenzo (Sekune Benjiro) (Japanese). Footed and spouted stoneware pouring bowl, with the rim folded over. Chocolate brown body with felspar grains, unglazed. Brushed decoration in enamel colours (inside and out) of autumn flowers in white, green, grey and black, over a patch of white slip on one side. Foot ring not completely scooped out. Height, white, 7.50 cm, diameter, bowl, 13.50 cm, diameter, foot, 7.00 cm, circa 1800-circa 1899. Edo period (1615-1868) / Meiji period (1868-1912). Production Note: In the style of Kenzo ( Sakune Benjiro) cf. Fig.146, p.176 of 'The Art of Ogata Kenzan' ( Richard L. Wilson).
