Hot water jug. Storr, Paul (British, 1771-1844). Storr & Mortimer. BombÃ©-shaped, embossed and chased with flowers in panels, and standing on three scroll legs. The handle in the form of a knarled branch devides near the top so two branches join the body either side of the hinge. Beneath the spout is engraved the crest of a begging cat and motto: 'TOUCH NOT THE CAT BOT IN A GLOVE'. Silver, height, to top of finial, 22.2 cm, 1831 -1832. London. Rococo Revival. Acquisition Credit: Given by Miss J.H.G. Gollan through the National Art Collections Fund.
