Sauce boat. H?, silversmith, Ireland, Dublin. Oval with wavy edged rim; the sides undecorated; standing on three cast legs with trefoil capitals, knuckles, and hoof feet; with double scroll flying handle, the base scratch engraved with the initials ‘MM’ and ‘5:4½’ for 5 oz 4 ½ dwt. Silver, height, to top of handle, 8.2 cm, width, from lip to handle, 16 cm, weight, overall, 170 g, circa 1760.
