Textiles. Man's cap. Linen, embroidered with polychrome silks, silver and silver-gilt threads. The brim is edged with metal thread bobbin lace. The cap comprises four joined panels each decorated with coiling stems carrying leaves, flower sprays, insects and birds. Height, whole, 11¼ in, width, whole, 9 in, circa 1575-circa 1599. English. Elizabethan.
