Japanese pottery. Tea Bowl. Unknown pottery, Japan, Kyoto. Footed cylindrical tea bowl with bright orange-red body. Underglaze decoration of seven cranes in a green and white landscape, the whole covered with a clear glaze which has degraded. The foot and the base of the bowl appear to be covered with a clear varnish. Earthenware, hand built with clear underglaze, brush painting decoration, height 8.70 cm, diameter, rim, 11.90 cm, largest, diameter, bowl, 12.00 cm, diameter, foot, 5.50 cm, circa 1775-circa 1825. Edo period (1615-1868) / Meiji period (1868-1912).
