Sauce Boat. West, Matthew, silversmith, probably, Ireland, Dublin. A deep oval with gadroon edged border; the sides undecorated; standing on three cast scroll legs with shell capitals and hoof feet; with leaf capped double scroll handle; the base scratch engraved with the initials 'D' over 'TG'. Silver, height, to top of handle, 10.8 cm, width, from lip to handle, 15.6 cm, weight, overall, 220 g, circa 1770-1786. Rococo.
