Shell-shaped box. Angel, George, England, London. The cast escallop shell-shaped box has a flat cover with concealed hinge, and a cast winkle shell-shaped handle, and stands on two large and one small cast winkle shell-shaped feet. The whole is realistically chased. The cast body seamed with the back of the cover and set with a hinge. The edge of the cover and body has an applied rim mount. The handle and feet are cast and applied. Silver, height, to top of handle, 5.3 cm, width, handle to back, 22.8 cm, weight, whole, 640 g, 1875-1876. Victorian.
