An image of Screen fan/pien mien. Unknown maker, China. Decorated with peacocks and orioles with flowering tree peonies, magnolias and rocks, the stick formed as flowering prunus. Stick: ivory carved in relief and pierced; knotted string of green silk bound in blue, with red and gold tassels, with sliding gilt paper-wrapped toggles. Rim: brocade covered. Face: polychrome silk embroidered on satin. Height, guards, 40.3 cm, width, whole, 26.6 cm, after 1770 to before 1830. Collection: Messel-Rosse Collection.
