Coinage. Dirham. Nasir al-Din Mahmud (1219-33), ruler. Mosul, Al-Mawsil Mint. The Atabegs & Contemporaries. Zangids of al-Mawsil. Obverse: Figure, seated, cross-legged, upholding crescent, beneath each elbow, star., legend at either side of figure and either side of figure's head, in dotted circle. Reverse: Centre legend, stars at the beginning and at the end of the 3rd line. Copper, height 24 mm, width 24 mm, die axis 230 degrees, weight 7.74 g, 1229-1230.
