Italian bronze figure of Hercules

An image of Sculpture/figure. Hercules, bearded and nude, stands in contraposto, his long club held by both hands is upright at his left side. Over left forearm is hung his lion's mane. His is turned to the left, looking down slightly. Bronze, cast, with dark brown patina; highly polished; mounted on a yellow-green marble plinth, height, bronze, 10.6 cm, circa 1460-1500. Notes: The first labour of Hercules was to strangle the invulnerable Nemean Lion, whose skin Hercules wore afterwards as a talisman. Italian.
