Chinese Ding Yao ware saucer (base)

An image of Saucer. Ding Yao ware. Circular with shallow sloping sides. The flat centre is incised with a lotus flower and foliage. The rim is mounted with what may be copper, which has rusted. Oval label printed in black with a tower and 'Malcolm Collection' and inscribed in blue black ink 'D./98'. There is another oval label inscribed in black '104'. White stoneware with incised decoration under an ivory glaze. Height 2.1 cm, diameter 11.6 cm, 960- 1127. Northern Song (960-1127). Chinese. Acquisition Credit: Lent to the museum by Helen H. L. Whittow (nee Malcolm).
