To the left is an octagon incribed around the edge 'arms OF Scotland' and containing a thistle. To the right a similar octagon inscribed 'LinLithGOWS arms' containing a bird either side of a stylized tree with a chained hound. The rest of the ground is filled with pairs of initials and detached motifs, crowns, dogs, flowering plant, birds and a leopard.
