object type: Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, double running, eyelet and satin stitch.  There is a selvedge on both sides, the other edges are turned under and stitched.  There are seven horizontal bands of alphabets and one set of numerals.  Various initials are worked, as are floral and figurative detached motifs, which fill the remainder of the space.  At the centre bottom the inscriptions 'ANNO 1726' and  'GG' are placed either side of a ship.
