The head of each guard is strengthen with tortoiseshell. Blue ribbon concealed by paper painted in two shades of blue. Steel rivet with mother-of-pearl washer. Front: Within an horizontal oval reserve with a gilt frame, a gentleman and lady are seated on a see-saw in a garden, watched by another standing on the right. On each side there is a smaller, vertical oval reserve with an ogee top, similarly framed, containing a lady with her left arm raised, standing in a landscape. The ground is decorated en camaieu in blue, and in blue, green and buff, with buildings and landscapes. At the shoulder there is a horizontal gold border, decorated in black with crosses, below which are four Chinese figures: a boy holding a parasol over a seated figure, flanked by seated men in oval panels. The head is undecorated. Reverse: Three reserves similar in shape to those on the front are outlined in red. The central panel contains a tree and grass against sky, the flanking panels are outlined in black with a lady holding up her left arm, standing in a landscape. The background is outlined in black with buildings in landscape. Below the shoulder there is a spray of red flowers and foliage.
