object type: Silver-gilt; the slightly convex sloping cylindrical sides embossed and chased with a formal pattern of strapwork, cherubs' heads, fuit and scrolls on a matted ground.  The low everted foot has two reeded borders with a matted border between.  The cover is stepped and slightly domed; the outer border is embossed and chased with straps and fruit, round an inner border of gadroons on a matted ground containing an inverted bell-shaped finial.  The handle is cast with a winged caryatid.  The thumb-piece is modelled as a shell between two scrolls.
