The teapot has a pear-shaped body standing on a footring .It has a loop handle with moulded foliage on the upper and lower ends and a curved spout with a grotesque mask in relief at its base.The domed cover has a reel-shaped finial. The end of the spout has a silver-gilt mount and cover, lined to the finial by a chain. On each side there is a cartouche with two rectangular and two curved sides, framed by iron-red, brown and gold scrolls, and small areas of lustre. One is occupied by a landscape with a river, and the other by a landscape with a lake. There are insects in the spaces between the cartouches, and 'Indian' flowers under the spout, down the back of the handle, and on the cover. There are gold bands round the foot and neck of the pot, and a border fo gold scrollwork on the shoulder.
