object type: Gold, enamelled in opaque white, and translucent blue, green, and red enamels.  In the shape of a crown surmounting an oval shield, containing locks fo brown and blond hair under glass. The front is enamelled with the Union Jack over a  guilloché ground. The back is inscribed 'The/GRACIOUS GIFT/OF THEIR DAUGHTER/ THE/Princess Mary/DUCHESS/OF GLOUCESTER/1854'. The interior of the back is engraved with the crowned cyphers 'GR' and 'CR'. A rng for suspension is attached to the back of the crown
