object type: Silver with tortoise shell lid inlaid with silver thread piqué work.   Oval with straight sides, projecting moulded edges and a projecting hinge. The top of the slightly domed lid is decorated with a vignette of a lighthouse, ship and tree within borders of flowerhead and dots.  The interior of the base has been lined or painted with a material which has corroded leaving a dark brown stain.
