object type: gilt metal set with a miniature in enamel on copper; the rectangular box with flat hinge and cusped thumbpiece is chased all over with a basket-work pattern.  The lid is set with a domed miniature depicting on the top a female warrior or goddess in a plumed helmet, holding a spear, with a cherub above her right shoulder and beneath her left arm.  The reverse, on the inside of the lid, depicts a rural landscape with two Classically dressed figures standing between a partially ruined Classical temple and a river, in the background are further figures, a castle and mountains.
